Parking

The Greenmarket multistorey car park is probably the nearest reliable parking place for the Bonar Hall, and is free after 8pm  – The other near council parking areas are the South Tay Street Car Park, Olympia Multi Storey Car Park,  and the Gellatly Street Multi Storey Car Park) . More details of Dundee City parking here.

Parking on the University Campus is available for the public but only at the weekends, but it is cheaper and more convenient than parking elsewhere. Payment is via the Ringo app. It is best to set this up before you come and it is easy to use. More about University parking here

For the Steps Theatre (for the Thursday evening show) it should be possible to park in one of the surrounding streets, such as the Hilltown or Bell Street.

Transport

Subject to appropriate availability of services, please consider travelling to the festival by train or bus.

Trainline – organise travel by train. There is also a downloadable app for Apple and Android devices.

Stagecoach Bus – for timetables for Scottish buses

Ember – Frequent services between Dundee, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Stirling, Kinross, Edinburgh Airport and more.

Food!

A lot of people mentioned on the feedback forms that it would be great to have food available during the festival. With our limited resources, this is not possible unless we get approached by a food van or similar. I will shortly add some information about Cafes and Restaurants within walking distance of the Bonar Hall (and Steps Theatre)

Bonar Hall

Bonar HallThe Friday and Saturday sessions of the Dundee Mountain Film Festival programme are held at the Bonar Hall, Park Place which is on the University of Dundee Campus (Postcode DD1 4HN).

Note that the Bonar Hall is not accessible by car from the Hawkhill side of Park Place (the street is split by a barrier past the Dental Hospital), but it is not far to walk from the Hawkhill.

The Ustinov Room is in the Bonar Hall complex (upstairs). The  Greenmarket multi-storey car park is probably the nearest reliable parking place. See more about parking above. You can download a pdf map of the Dundee University Campus here.
