About

bachnagairn bridgeThe Dundee Mountain Film Festival is Scotland’s pioneering mountain film festival. It showcases an international programme of speakers, as well as award winning films and exhibitions, mainly held in the Bonar Hall, Dundee. We will also have a full supporting exhibition of art, photography, trade and voluntary organisations stands and displays.

Organisation of the festival is through the Dundee Mountain Film Festival Society, a Scottish Charitable body (SC029267). The organising committee consists of volunteers from local climbing clubs. The Patron of the Festival is Chris Tiso, Chief Executive of Tiso. Lord Wilson of Tillyorn was a previous Patron.

The Festival is non-competitive and all films and presenters appear by invitation, recognising the quality and the content of their work.

The first Dundee Mountain Film Festival was staged to raise funds for building the bridge at Bachnagairn in memory of our friend Roy Tait, a member of the Grampian Club and Tayside Mountain Rescue Team. 2024 with be our 40th event!
