The 2025 event will be held on 5th and 6th of December at Abertay University, Dundee.

Dundee Mountain Film Festival (DMFF) “Scotland’s pioneering mountain film festival” in 2024 celebrated its 40^th Anniversary of presenting a programme of outstanding speakers, films, exhibitions and events inspiring, educating and entertaining outdoor enthusiasts of all persuasions. In order to ensure continuity of this popular event the Festival is actively seeking enthusiasts to join the organisers towards achieving this objective. Previous organising experience whilst being an advantage is not essential for this voluntary role other than enthusiasm for bringing together the continued presentation of Scotland’s longest running mountain film festival.

Film submission

Although we do not have a film competition, we welcome approaches from film makers wishing to consider using the Dundee Mountain Film Festival as a showcase for their films. We often have representatives from other film festivals and film makers attending the DMFF.

Trade stands

We also have a large “trade show” featuring representatives from voluntary organisations and the outdoor trade. This is an efficient and friendly medium for such organisations to interact with their local customers.
